2011 Clarks in the Park

Please join us for a grand gathering of friends and family at the 2011 Clarks in the Park picnic.

The picnic is scheduled for Saturday, June 25th at the Rotary Hill Shelter of the Lake-of-the-Woods Forest Preserve in Mahomet, IL. (This is the same place where we celebrated our gatherings in past years.) We have reserved the shelter from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will plan to have lunch at noon.

The picnic is a celebration of our family ties, all extended family and friends included. That is, everyone is welcome!  Invitations go out to cousins on the Clark and Wheelan sides of the families, as well as other extended family members, friends and others with an interest in visiting with the clan. If you want me to add someone to the mailing list, please send me their address. I know that it would be a long trip for many of you and that not everyone can make it, but we would be delighted if you are able to come. (Rumors are rampant that some Kentucky cousins may join us this year!) We always have a wonderful time sharing stories and renewing the ties between us.
Here are some details about the picnic:

Food: Potluck. There are no arrangements for any catering, so please bring a dish (or two) to share. Cups, plates, napkins and plastic picnic ware will be provided.

Optional: Lawn chairs, games, photos and drinks (coffee, iced tea and lemonade will be provided). Please note that rental agreement does not permit us to have alcohol on site.

Costs: The shelter rental ($205) has been pre-paid by Molly, and she’d appreciate it if you could help share this cost. Suggested amount is $3.00 to 5.00 per adult (pay at the picnic, if you like).

T-shirts:  I'll be bringing the shirts for those who ordered them. (online order form and sample views of shirts - orders were placed a few weeks ago -- sorry, I can't order more unless I have an order of at least 20 shirts.)

Games:  We'll plan to play "Clark Bingo" again and possibly a few other games. Parents, feel free to bring supplies for ball games or other activities your kids would enjoy -- Shawn Householder has promised us dry weather.
