The Stories We Tell

Calling all Family Storytellers!

Jeff and Annis in a wagonAt a family picnic not long ago, one of my cousins suggested that we start collecting some of the stories from our growing up years. Our grandparents, aunts and uncles were great storytellers, and we've enjoyed many tales they have told us. Denny and cousinsAs Baby Boomers, we are fast becoming the keepers of their stories. We also have stories of our own which deserve to be added to the family memorybook. .... perhaps a special memory of a person or a place, or maybe a lesson we learned, or laugh we shared.

With our collective effort, the stories will flow. When we are together, one story always leads to another! I am providing a place on this website for my extended family to share our stories. I would like to collect "baby boomer" stories (they originate with events between 1940 and 1980) which aren't already recorded somewhere else, such as the stories already written down for wedding anniversary memory books or other collections.

The stories you submit do not have to be lengthy or even have a plot. They might be simply a description of a person or time that sticks out in your memory. I Grandma, Grandpa and kidsparticularly invite my brothers, sisters and first cousins on both sides of the family to contribute to this collection.

Because the stories contain names and some details about living persons, they are stored in a protected directory on this website, and access is limited to family members. You will need to request a username and password to enter. If you would like to view the stories or add to the collection, please contact me.
